Whose House is this?

Grandpa says, "This house is mine." But have you ever thought about grandmother? In her early life she lived in her father's house. After marriage she came to her husband's house. She gave birth to children in this house and took care of them with a smile. She lives a long life in this house with her husband and children. With the passage of time, the age also went down. The grandfather passes away and as such an ancestral house goes under his son's name. In this way now the new name of grandmother's place of refuge is son's house. The house is the same but with a new identity.

The status of women reflects the social, economic and mental status in a nation. In our scriptures, woman has been considered a symbol of spirituality. Yet, women were denied rights and equality in the ancient Indian civilization. They have been treated badly and unequally by men.

Thus she has always been known by one or the other name. First father's house, then husband's house, then son's house, Will she ever live in her own house too?
