The First Journey of My Life Part- I

It was 07 Oct 1987, when we were pushed like animals in Pashchim Express train for Mumbai (Bombay). The crowd in the train was so heavy that, we could not take care of our luggage. We were only praying for our life. Train departed from New Delhi Railway station in the evening around 05’, o clock.

Many people were screaming, "we will fall down, go inside", but there was no space in the train to move a centimeter. Then he made a vigorous push and we moved a foot further into it. Every movement was by force, individually we were unable to do anything.

The train was moving at its speed and we were standing helpless.Train halted many stations but nothing was visible outside due to crowd.

Condition was so bad that we had forgotten our hunger and thirst. Late night when I got slept, I could not remember. Perhaps it might be unconsciousness. Read More...



वह 07 अक्टूबर 1987 दिन था, जब हमें मुंबई (बॉम्बे) के लिए पश्चिम एक्सप्रेस ट्रेन में जानवरों की तरह धकेल दिया गया था। ट्रेन में भीड़ इतनी भारी थी कि, हम अपने सामान की देखभाल नहीं कर सके । हम केवल अपने जीवन के लिए प्रार्थना कर रहे थे। ट्रेन नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन से शाम को लगभग 05 बजे रवाना हुई। 

कई लोग चिल्ला रहे थें , हम नीचे गिर जाएंगे, लेकिन ट्रेन में एक सेंटीमीटर आगे जाने के लिए कोई जगह नहीं थी। फिर उन्होंने एक जोरदार धक्का दिया और हम इससे में एक फीट आगे बढ़ गए। प्रत्येक हरकत बलपूर्वक थी, व्यक्तिगत रूप से हम कुछ भी करने में असमर्थ थे। 

ट्रेन अपनी गति से आगे बढ़ रही थी और हम असहाय खड़े थे। ट्रेन कई स्टेशनों रुकी लेकिन भीड़ के कारण बाहर कुछ भी दिखाई नहीं दे रहा था। हालत इतनी ख़राब थी कि हम अपनी भूख और प्यास भूल गए थे। देर रात मैं कब सो गया तो मुझे याद नहीं । शायद यह बेहोशी हो सकती है।

Citrullus colocynthis, which has many common names including colocynth, bitter apple, bitter cucumber, desert gourd, sodom vine or wild gourd.
