Our Yesterday Versus Today
When there is a transaction of one commodity or service against another, it is called Barter System.In this system no social unit (currency) was used.
Before the emergence of currency, all transactions were in the form of barter. While we think of that time today, we can feel ashamed. But it was easily done at that time. There was a lot of affection in the society. Everyone took care of others. Loyalty, honesty and social values were at the top.
While today we think for that time, we may feel ashamed. But that time it was done with ease. Lots of affection in the society. Everyone takes care of others.
Today, it may seem our society doesn’t practice many values. We have a rise in discrimination, abuse of power, greed, etc. What are we leaving behind for our future generations? Maybe it’s time society takes a hard look at its values.

जब किसी एक वस्तु या सेवा के बदले दूसरी वस्तु या सेवा का लेन-देन होता है तो इसे वस्तु विनिमय प्रणाली कहते हैं । इस पद्धति में विनिमय की सार्वजनिक इकाई अर्थात मुद्रा का इस्तेमाल नहीं किया जाता है।
मुद्रा के प्रादुर्भाव के पहले सारा लेन-देन वस्तु-विनिमय के रूप में ही होता था। जबकि आज हम उस समय के बारे में सोचते हैं, तो हम शर्म महसूस कर सकते हैं। लेकिन उस समय यह आसानी से किया जाता था। समाज में बहुत स्नेह था। हर कोई दूसरों का ख्याल रखता था। वफादारी, ईमानदारी और सामाजिक मूल्य शीर्ष पर थे।
आज ऐसा लग सकता है कि हमारा समाज कई मूल्यों पर अमल नहीं कर रहा है। हम भेदभाव, शक्ति का दुरुपयोग, लालच, आदि में वृद्धि कर रहे हैं, हम अपनी आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए पीछे क्या छोड़ रहे हैं? हो सकता है कि इस समय का समाज अपने मूल्यों पर एक सख्त नज़र रखता है।
मूल्य संक्रामक हो सकते हैं; यदि आप प्रयास करते हैं, तो कई अन्य लोग भी शामिल होंगे, जिनमें हमारे बच्चे भी शामिल हैं। उम्मीद है कि हम सभी के अधिक प्रयास से आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लिए हम बेहतर जगह देगे।
