The Power is in the Doing, not in the Talking

The monthly wage of my mother was rupee three hundred at that time. It was offered by a group of thirty people. I had to collect the money from them. Many of them were not giving in time. For ten rupee I had to them for several times, two third of them were paying after almost two or three months later.

Then it became very difficult to tell them when they had paid last. One day one gentlemen among them had asked me to make a list and hand over to him saying “I will collect from everyone and hand over to me” I was very assured on his saying.

But after few days he turned back and told me that he could not arrange time to meet every one and hand over the list to me with some money. He also assured me if someone is asking to come again then he will pay for him.

मेरी माँ का मासिक वेतन उस समय तीन सौ रुपये था। यह तीस लोगों के समूह द्वारा पेश किया गया था। मुझे उनसे पैसे लेने जाना पड़ता था । उनमें से कई समय में नहीं दे रहे थे। दस रुपये के लिए मुझे उनके पास कई बार जाना पड़ता था, उनमें से लगभग दो तिहाई दो या तीन महीने बाद भुगतान करते थे।

तब उन्हें यह बताना बहुत मुश्किल हो जात था, कि उन्होंने आखिरी भुगतान कब किया था। एक दिन उनके बीच एक सज्जन ने मुझे एक सूची बनाने और उन्हें सौंपने के लिए कहा था कि वह हर एक से इकट्ठा करेगा और वह मुझे सौंप देगा। मुझे उनके कहने पर यकीन था ।

कुछ दिनों के बाद वह थोड़े पैसे लेकर वापस आया । उसने कहा वह हर किसी से मिलने के लिए समय का प्रबंध नहीं कर सका, उसने थोड़े पैसे और सूची मुझे सौंप दी। उसने मुझे यह भी आश्वासन दिया कि यदि कोई फिर से आने के लिए कहता है तो वह उसके लिए भुगतान करेगा और उसने ऐसा किया भी ।

तब मुझे कहावत समझ में आई कि अपने लक्ष्यों के बारे में गपसप करने की मंशा से, उस पहले पैर को आगे रखने और अपने लक्ष्यों की ओर बढ़ने से बहुत अलग है । शक्ति है करने में है, बात करने में नहीं।
