The eighth power of Maa Durga is named Mahagauri. Their color is fully noticed. It is also likened to conch, moon and kunda flowers. All their clothing and jewelery is also white. They have four arms. They ride bulls. His upper right hand is in abhaya mudra and lower hand has trident. The top left hand is Damru and the lower hand is in Vara mudra.

She is sitting on a bull and is the most calm of all of Maa Durga’s avatars. She symbolizes purity, serenity and tranquility. माँ दुर्गा की आठवीं शक्ति का नाम महागौरी हैं। इनका रंग पूर्णतः गौर है। इसकी उपमा शंख, चंद्र और कुंड के फूल से भी की गयी है। इनके समस्त वस्त्र और आभूषण भी श्वेत है। इनकी चार भुजाएँ हैं। ये बैल की सवारी करती हैं। इनके ऊपरी दाहिना हाथ अभय मुद्रा में है तथा निचले हाथ में त्रिशूल हैं। ऊपर वाले बाएं हाथ में डमरू है और निचला हाथ वर मुद्रा में हैं।

वह एक बैल पर बैठी है और मां दुर्गा के सभी अवतारों में सबसे शांत है। वह पवित्रता, शांति और शांति का प्रतीक है। बहुत सारे भक्त इस शुभ दिन को मानते हैं और अपने उपकरणों की पूजा करते हैं। इसके पीछे का महत्त्व यह है कि माँ दुर्गा के हथियारों को महिला शक्ति के प्रतीक के रूप में पूजा जाता है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि देवी महागौरी अपने भक्तों की सभी इच्छाओं को पूरा कर सकती हैं। यदि आप उसकी पूजा करते हैं, तो आप जीवन के सभी कष्टों से मुक्त हो सकते हैं।

उसके पहले संचित पाप भी नष्ट हो जाते हैं। भविष्य में पाप कभी नहीं आएगा, वह कभी दुखी नहीं होगा। वह सभी प्रकार से पवित्र और अक्षय पुण्यों का अधिकारी हो जाता हैं। सर्वांगीण कल्याण के लिए मां महागौरि का ध्यान स्मरण, पूजन,आराधन भक्तों के लिए कल्याणकारी हैं। हमें सदैव इनका ध्यान करना चाहिए, उनकी कृपा से अलौकिक सिद्दियों की प्राप्ति होती है। ये भक्तों के कष्टों को अवश्य ही दूर करती हैं। इसलिए, हमें उनके चरणों की शरण पाने के लिए हर संभव प्रयास करना चाहिए, पुराणों में इनकी महिमा का प्रचुर मात्रा में आख्यान किया गया है। वे मनुष्य की वृतियों को सत की ओर प्रेरित करती हैं और असत का विनाश करती हैं।
